Position Details


Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Technical Writer II for our client partner. This role will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field as it relates to marketing. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. This position reports to the Web Manager in the Marketing Department and is responsible for daily content updates to our client's website. This position is responsible for a variety of website operational tasks and duties including site content management, weekly marketing asset publishing, and quality assurance. In addition, this position oversees development of new webpages in partnership with key internal stakeholders. Flexible remote work being offered, with occasional visits to campus for meetings, special events, etc.


  • Supports the day-to-day editorial and quality assurance process with web authors. Provides oversight of content to ensure campus-wide standards and processes compliance.
  • Consults with web manager, and offers suggestions on best practices, content strategy, and information architecture and page layouts to improve user experience.
  • Ensures brand consistency through knowledge of design standards: fonts, formatting, layout, images, graphic elements, etc. and collaborates with the creative team to ensure success
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across business and technology to ensure alignment by balancing competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clear vision, communicating effectively and aligning various partners along the way.
  • Works closely with in marketing department to solidify design direction and writing to ensure consistency across digital brand assets.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in marketing and content development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in content presentation, graphic design principles, website coordination, and SEO.
  • Knowledge of applicable accessibility and privacy practices, regulations, and laws. Experience in creating accessible PDFs using Adobe Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated skill writing and editing for search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Experience in creating and executing trainings as well as communicating policies and procedures.


  • Associates Degree in Marketing, Journalism or Web Development
  • Four (4) years’ work experience
