Beacon Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator III for our client partner. As part of the IT Strategic Initiative, our client is interested in attaining professional services to provide support for the WebSphere service and applications for several state agencies like Client Assistance for Reemployment and Economic Support. This professional services engagement is responsible for providing support for applications running on WebSphere and IBM WebSphere MQ. These services provide customers with the framework for running WebSphere Application Server (WAS), WebSphere Liberty, and WebSphere MQ in a secure environment. The Systems Administrator III will perform a variety of complicated tasks, and a degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support for various departments’ applications running on WebSphere and IBM WebSphere MQ.
• Responsible for the installation, maintenance, support, and configuration of hardware and software.
• Responsible for application deployments.
• Maintain and update infrastructure documentation.
• Complete implementation of security policies and filters associated with the tools.
• Provide additional troubleshooting support.

Qualifications/Required Skills:

• Experience with installation, maintenance, administration and monitoring of the WebSphere Software in a multi-platform environment (Linux and Windows) (5).
• Ability to provide proactive resolution of problems and/or alerts received by various monitoring and management systems.
• Ability to provide resolution of connectivity problems, assisting users, and debugging problems.
• Hands-on technical experience in support of software tools such as WebSphere Application Server.
• Experience with a broad range of technical skills in support of all WebSphere customers.
• Training and/or experience with scripting tools such as Bash, Korn, and Python.
• Knowledge of change management best practices in a complex hosting environment.
