Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Sr. Project Manager - Power Generation for our client partner. The Sr. Project Manager will have 10+ years heavy industrial experience. Professional Engineer (Mechanical or Industrial) strongly preferred. Power production or utility experience is a plus. With experience in construction oversight as project manager on large commercial projects. Local candidates as will be onsite 80-100% of the time. The initial, long-term project is near UW Hospital campus, construction offices provided at the site. There could be times when the work requires non-traditional hours, or extra in a week. Flex schedule to average 40hr/week over the month. Prefer they are eligible for direct hire at a later point.

These stations generate megawatts to put on the grid usually via diesel generators. Initial project provides electricity, heating, steam, and chilled water to 3 local hospitals. Easily one year plus but would anticipate moving on to the next work at that time as considerable knowledge and training will have been invested. Ideally would like a Project Manager who has seen an installation or two and has a heavy industrial/technical background. Foundation of role is strong Project Management.

  • Draft scopes of work.
  • Coordinate with project vendors.
  • Create and track schedules and budgets.
  • Provide project updates up the line.
  • Run project kick-off and close-out meetings.
  • Looking for a super strong communicator, both verbally and written, who can provide detailed communications and ask the right questions.
  • Project execution, they need to be fast-moving and take strong accountability.
  • Must be detail and result oriented.
  • Will start this person with smaller/lower complexity project and then work up to system redesigns.
  • Initial projects are queued up and are ready for execution.
