Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst II for our client partner. Our client is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Analyst II for their PROTECT Modernization Project. The position is remote, and the candidate must reside in WI. This position is responsible for working with our existing business analyst on formalizing testing protocols for the PROTECT case management system. It will be responsible for recommending and implementing an automated testing tool in addition to assisting the current business analyst with application testing, developing test scripts and writing documentation. This position will be part of the final two years of our modernization effort and serve as a member of the core team that includes members of the existing team and other IT contractors. PROTECT is the in-house-developed comprehensive case management system used by all 71 District Attorney offices across the State. The system is a crucial tool for the operation of the DA offices as well as State justice partners (DOT, DOT, DOC and CCAP) through various interfaces. The system is being modernized to optimize processing, performance, and security.

REQUIRED:

  • At least 5 years of QA experience involving documentation and testing (manual as well as automated testing experience).
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, accessibility, and interaction.
  • Proven experience creating and executing test scripts; documenting issues found; and communicating with developers and other team members about the items found and steps followed.
  • Experience with automated testing tools with the ability to recognize which tools work best for which environments.
  • Experience with systems and processes that interact with sensitive and restricted data.
  • Promote and maintain secure data and systems practices.
  • Experience implementing an automated test tool from scratch, including systems analysis and team member cross-training.
  • Ability to learn quickly; synthesize complex information; identify key points and communicate results accurately and effectively.
  • Adaptable to an evolving project structure and open to feedback.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal (phone/video) and written (email) with both team members (developers, business analysts) and stakeholders.
  • Strong creative, problem-solving, organizational, and task management skills.
  • UI/UX design experience.
  • Experience with UI/UX design software like Figma, Balsamiq, or Framer.

Example Responsibilities:

  • Automated Testing:
  • Quickly get up to speed on the modernization project and determine which automated testing tool will work best in our environment.
  • Work within the confines of the State’s available product offerings.
  • Test Plans:
  • Work with existing business analyst on understanding the application.
  • Develop test plans to execute on changes as well as regression testing.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure the code is error free.
  • Communicate issues effectively to developers.
  • Documentation:
  • Create testing documentation to provide clear guidelines for developers and testers to follow.
  • User Training and Support:
  • Provide guidance and training materials to help users understand and navigate the testing software effectively.
  • Other:
  • Communicate regularly with team members to gather design needs and share changes and reasons behind choices. Actively participate in daily scrums.
  • Understand business requirements to achieve desired outcomes, while adhering to agency policies, procedures, and compliance objectives.
  • Support for other team initiatives as needed.
