Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Project Manager II for our client partner. Must be a CURRENT Wisconsin resident. No relocation allowed. This position can work 100% remote (within the state of Wisconsin) or in the office. Under the direction of the Communications Director, the Communications Project Manager (CPM) is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications for internal and external stakeholders. The CPM coordinates with the Communications Director to prioritize and lead the communications team in the Office of Communications. The CPM collaborates with program subject matter experts (SMEs), project and transition managers, and leadership to identify business goals, desired outcomes, and measures to create an exceptional customer experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Professional with relevant experience and/or education in the following:
  • Communications Management
    • Lead the communications team, strategize, align resources, and set priorities in coordination with the Communications Director.
    • Development and implementation of multi-channel strategic communication plans and key performance indicators to measure outcomes and ROI.
    • Partner with the business areas to achieve communication goals for staff, members, and employers.
    • Coordination of the agency’s matrix communications model for targeted and integrated benefits-related communications (i.e., retirement, insurance) for members of the Wisconsin Retirement System.
    • Management of external communications and education that drive use of the My Benefits portal and create an exceptional customer experience (CX) across touch points (i.e., website, self-service applications, call center).
    • Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams focused on improving overall CX based on member feedback and metrics.
    • Collaborate with the Webmaster to identify web content and navigation improvements, prioritize development, testing, and launching of new functionality.
    • Communicate business and technical concepts and information effectively to a wide range of audiences and apply plain language to increase understanding of complex benefits.
  • Project Management
    • Management of intake process for OC service requests and alignment of communications team resources.
    • Collaborate with Office of Enterprise Initiatives project and transition managers for crossing over communications and change management from modernization and other initiatives to operations.
    • Provide input into the content management and functional design of applications (i.e., Insurance Administration System, My Benefits portal).
    • Lead and facilitate project teams to engage participants, secure commitment, gain consensus, and generate decisions. Foster team learning and collaboration by encouraging and modeling open expression of ideas and opinions.
    • Develop project plans that clearly define individual roles and responsibilities and deliverables.
    • Monitor project progress and task dependencies and negotiate timeline changes as needed. Track action items, issues, risks, and key decisions.
    • Independently resolve issues to remove roadblocks and provide reports or updates on issues to the Communications Director and business partners.
    • Ensure OC's primary processes are documented and working efficiently to maintain continuity of operations, improved workflow, and positive outcomes.
    • Develop and refine OC’s project management templates, tools, and methodologies.
    • Effectively present recommendations to leadership and other decision makers and diplomatically challenge assumptions to achieving project success.
  • General
    • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and team building skills to develop and sustain effective working relationships.
    • Strong technical aptitude including experience with Microsoft Planner and other project management tools.
    • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and web content management software.
    • Creative thinker and problem solver who looks at the big picture.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • A self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
