Beacon is seeking a Network Engineer for our client partner. The Network Engineer & Database Oversight Specialist ensures uptime, performance, and data integrity across commercial HIPAA-regulated and federal CMMC Level 2/CMS MAC ARS environments by overseeing and validating services delivered by a third-party IT outsourcer. This role serves as the internal technical authority to audit vendor deliverables, resolve complex network and database issues, and verify multi-tenant compliance baselines.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as the primary contact for the managed service provider and audit SLA performance, incident resolution, and root cause analyses.
• Support compliance audits by collecting logs, diagrams, access reviews, and vulnerability remediation evidence.
• Audit vendor network changes, firewall rules, routing updates, and database patching activities.
• Oversee the Aruba wireless and ClearPass authentication deployments and DB2, SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL environments managed by the outsourcer.
• Other job-related responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• Three (3) plus years of experience in network engineering, database administration, or infrastructure oversight in managed service providers or outsourced IT environments.
• Working understanding of LAN/WAN networking, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and multi-platform databases.
• Knowledge of database technologies, backup/restore practices, and disaster recovery planning.
• Working knowledge of both on-prem and cloud hosting solutions, system monitoring tools, performance tuning, capacity planning and performance tuning of hosting and database solutions.
• Working knowledge of vulnerability management.
• Proficiency with Cisco networking, Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, Aruba wireless/ClearPass, and SQL Server plus other database platforms.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of IT service management and vendor governance frameworks.
