Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer III for our client partner. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure. This role requires advanced expertise in networking technologies and the ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff. A Network Engineer III is a senior-level technical professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure. Additional details: This role requires advanced expertise in networking technologies and the ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff. Candidate MUST be a Wisconsin resident. No relocation is allowed. Position is 100% within the state of WI. 

Top Required Skills & Years of Experience:

  • 5 years or more of experience in the below:
  • Advanced Bridging and routing integration technologies
  • Troubleshooting LANs, WANs, and wireless
  • Proficient Firewall, ACLs, business to business access, Remote access
  • Network design

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Network monitoring and reporting
  • Security tools, log analysis
  • VoIP

Network Design & Implementation:

  • Design and architect enterprise-level network solutions including LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center networks
  • Implement and configure advanced routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS)
  • Deploy and manage network security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems
  • Plan and execute network upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime

Operations & Maintenance:

  • Monitor network performance and optimize for reliability, speed, and security
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with service providers

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement network security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Conduct network security assessments and vulnerability testing
  • Respond to security incidents and implement remediation measures
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and mitigation strategies

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead network infrastructure projects from conception to completion
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, security, and application teams
