Beacon Technologies is seeking a Lead Software Developer for our client partner that will work with their Data Science team. As a Lead Software Engineer on the Data Science team, you will be pivotal in pioneering and implementing cutting-edge AI software. This position demands a unique blend of technical expertise in software development, system design, and AI technologies. You will lead the development of sophisticated applications, focusing on integrating advanced data science techniques into scalable software solutions. Your expertise in languages like Python and JavaScript and your knowledge of cloud architectures and API development will drive innovation. This role involves technical proficiency and team leadership, guiding projects from conception to completion, and mentoring fellow engineers in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Essential Job Functions:

Advanced Software Development: Lead the development of complex software applications using languages like Python and JavaScript, focusing on incorporating AI and machine learning components.

System Architecture Design: Architect and design scalable and efficient system infrastructures, ensuring the robustness and reliability of software solutions.

Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the development team, fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration.

Project Management: Oversee project lifecycles, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to high-quality standards. Employ agile methodologies like SCRUM to streamline development processes.

Innovative Problem-Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, continuously exploring and integrating new technologies and methodologies.

Mentorship and Team Building: Mentor junior engineers and team members, promoting team skill development and professional growth.

Requirements:

Experience - Two to five years of experience in technology-focused roles as a solution architect, systems engineer, or similar position. Experience as a client-facing developer is highly desirable.

Education - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Information Technology, Data Science, or similar required. Master’s degree preferred.

Technical Competencies:

Expert Programming Skills: Mastery in Python and JavaScript. Proficiency in React for front-end development and familiarity with other frameworks and languages as needed.

AI and Machine Learning Integration: Proficient in integrating AI and machine learning algorithms into software solutions, enhancing functionality and efficiency.

Cloud Architecture and Infrastructure: In-depth understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly Azure, to support scalable and robust solutions.

API Development and Data Management: Skilled in developing reliable APIs and managing complex data structures, including proficiency in SQL and no-SQL databases.

System Design and Architecture: Expertise in designing system architecture, ensuring optimal performance and scalability of software applications.

Agile Methodology: Strong understanding of agile development practices, including SCRUM, to enhance team productivity and project management.

Travel Requirements - This position requires <10% travel.
