Beacon Technologies is seeking a Data Privacy Program Manager for remote work.

Job Summary

Under this role, this person will serve as the Privacy Program Manager and must have a solid understanding and interest in data privacy specifically, and IT security/cybersecurity in general. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and enhancing an environment that promotes the fulfillment of Privacy Office requirements and procedures for internal business stakeholders and external vendors. This resource will primarily perform project and program management duties to manage all Privacy Office tasks and projects to completion, and utilize superior administrative / coordination and communication skills to document work, organize it, and convey necessary details for internal and external consumption, including to the Director, Data Privacy. Secondarily, the program manager will support in project review and assessment analysis, as well as help to identify areas of improvement in existing Privacy processes, and work with the Director, Data Privacy to find solutions. Duties include:

  • Manages global end-to-end process of company privacy data subject access rights (DSAR) request portal, and Do Not Sell My Personal Information requests, ensuring fulfillment of all consumer individual rights requests for GDPR/CCPA compliance.
  • In depth mastery of the privacy technology platform, TrustArc, in order to manage the issuance, tracking, and completion of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and Vendor Due Diligence (VDD) assessments.
  • Supports Privacy assessment reviews, via preliminary analysis of PIAs and VDDs, i.e. identifying risks involving the collection, access, use, and storage of personal and/or sensitive information.
  • Manages Privacy Office group inboxes, including to intake privacy review & assessment requests, document corresponding assessment artifacts, and respond to internal and external inquiries for information and direction on Privacy processes/requirements.
  • Leads and manages the company's safe harbor certification program for COPPA and Privacy Compliance seals for all company websites, mobile apps, and products. This includes working with internal business groups on remediating found compliance issues where required.
  • Assesses existing and develops new privacy business processes to streamline workflow. Documents these processes and socializes them with relevant stakeholders company wide.
  • Produces weekly status reports detailing accomplishments, project/program risks, challenges, and additional developments for Director, Data Privacy.
  • Produces periodic reports on new and changing Privacy federal/state privacy regulations to assess how the company will be impacted, the company's compliance with them, and proposes corrective action plans.
  • Assists in further development of the company's Privacy Framework, including developing additional privacy controls and key areas of focus.
  • Leads effort in creating organizational Privacy training content, as well as planning instructor led-events and webinars. Conducts and promotes Privacy training and awareness to the workforce.


  • PMP or equivalent Project management certification(s).
  • 10+ years of project/program management experience, preferably in Information Technology, with the ability to apply project management principles and critical thinking to a Data Privacy & Protection objective.
  • 2+ years of Data Privacy, Data Protection, and/or Data Governance (from a Compliance perspective) experience.
  • Extremely strong Microsoft Outlook skills. Will need to manage multiple email inboxes and calendars to ensure Director, Data Privacy and other stakeholders are informed on product and project deadlines and meetings. 
  • Extremely strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills. Will need to produce reports that highlight issues and capture status in a succinct but visually appealing way.
  • Extremely strong Microsoft Excel skills. Will need to produce graphs, charts, and other graphical representations of complex data sets, as well as track projects & tasks. Ex. Gantt Charts, Pareto Charts, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), etc.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office365 applications—Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote, Visio is essential for communication and project tasks.
  • Independent, organized, and self-motivated, with the ability to operate autonomously but also take direction.
  • Strong organizational skills, possessing keen attention to detail in order to spot issues, track them for continued awareness, and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to understand the intended audience in order to communicate effectively.
  • Exhibits strong critical/analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibits diplomatic skills than can foster collaborative relationships across the company in order to deliver results.
  • High ethical standards, operating with integrity and professionalism.


  • MBA, JD (non-practicing), or information technology or Infosec bachelor’s degree.
  • Privacy certifications, including but not limited to CIPP-US and/or CIPP-EU.
  • Possesses knowledge of information technology (IT) systems and applications, and an understanding of how data, particularly, PII flows from system to system.
  • Knowledgeable of Privacy platforms such as TrustArc, OneTrust.

Additional Qualifications: (Not required, a plus)

  • Graduate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Additional Privacy certifications such as CIPT, CIPM.
  • Six Sigma or similar business process improvement certification.
  • Hands on experience managing and conducting Privacy Impact Assessments for a large corporation.
  • Hands on experience managing and conducting Vendor due diligence for a large corporation.
