Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Data Engineer for our client partner. This role is based in Madison, Wisconsin, onsite 4 day per week and remote 1 day per week. The highly skilled Data Engineer will join our client's growing data and analytics team. This individual will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing modern data solutions that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, Databricks, and Python, along with experience developing and managing semantic data models that enable scalable self-service analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Build and optimize data workflows using AWS and Databricks technologies.
  • Develop robust ETL/ELT processes to support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code for data engineering and automation initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and maintain semantic layers that support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Support data governance, security, and best practices across the data ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in data architecture and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Extensive experience working with Databricks in production environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python development.
  • Experience designing and supporting semantic layers for business intelligence and analytics solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, database concepts, and data warehousing principles.
  • Experience building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with modern BI and reporting platforms.
  • Experience with data lakehouse architectures.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and data engineering best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work schedule with 4 days onsite in Madison, WI and 1 remote day per week.
