Job Summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer II for our client partner. Candidates that are NOT located IN WISCONSIN or willing to relocate within that timeframe will NOT be considered and should not be submitted. *ALL WORK MUST BE DONE IN WISCONSIN. The motivated Systems Engineering Lead that will provide innovative solutions within a diverse Enterprise environment with multiple, cloud services and on-premises infrastructure components. The candidate will have expert level troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze current technologies used within the organization and determine ways to improve performance and provide stability to backend services. The Systems Engineering lead will provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the administration, maintenance and support of numerous backend systems that support the agencies application development, security, and desktop infrastructure. They will have responsibilities in directing and managing the workload of team members and managing the on-call support functions for the operations team.

The individual will work closely with Information Technology professionals to ensure technical components are available for projects and working properly. Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates or new services. They will be well versed in projecting for possible challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources, and scope changes to the project. They will work closely with the supervisor and project teams to successfully monitor the progress of initiatives, provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions, and define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution. They will have the ability to direct a small team in completing tasks, improving on operational support or maintenance, and document processes as needed.

This position will be a technical lead for our client's backend infrastructure services. These services or systems include areas within the Microsoft Services arena including but not limited to Active Directory (AD) services including ADFS, Group Policy, Distributed File Services, Azure subscriptions, DHCP, and networking protocols and services. This person will be responsible for third level technical support functions for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), monitoring tools, multi-factor authentication, storage and backup, Power Shell scripting, and numerous customized off the shelf applications that have been implemented. A high-level understanding of networking protocols and network connectivity will be required.

The qualified candidate will have the ability to define and document system requirements and components based on user/client needs, costs, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.

The candidate will have expert level system administration skills for Microsoft Windows servers, Active Directory Administration, and other MS core services like Group Policy, DFS, DHCP, DNS, to manage, monitor, and support our Agency Managed Application Servers.

 

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Expert level experience in the MS Windows server administration including all current supported OS versions. 15 years

Active Directory Group Policy implementation and troubleshooting. 15 years

Expert knowledge in supporting certificate services. 10 years

Expert experience in implementing technology best practices in an organization. 10 years

Proven competencies in documenting infrastructure components documentation with MS Visio. 10 years

Expert knowledge in configuring LDAP. 10 years

Expert knowledge of multi-factor authentication services. 5 years

MS Office 365 support – Teams, email, other. 5 years

System administrator for MS Azure subscriptions and services. 5 years
