Beacon Technologies is looking to hire a skilled Sr. Project Manager to work in Middleton, Wisconsin.

Job Description

This Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of assigned projects that are under the oversight of the Project Management Office (PMO). This position ensures appointed projects are defined, tracked, and communicated in a consistent and effective manner across the organization. In addition, the Senior Project Manager may proactively partner and collaborate with the PMO Director to define opportunities and provide input on project prioritization. Communication and collaboration with all levels of the organization in a customer-centric manner is a cornerstone of the Senior Project Manager position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct and manage assigned projects from beginning to end, including initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, and finalizing project deliverables according to deadlines and budget.
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Coordinate full-scale project schedules, associated communications, and training documents.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the company to develop Business Cases, Project Charters, schedules, and effort estimates; execute change management, provide communications, and develop testing and training plans.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies, critical paths, issues, decisions, and risks objectively and determine the proper course of action to resolve, address or mitigate.
  • Effectively communicate and continually manage project expectations with project teams and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, including escalating appropriate issues in a professional and concise manner.
  • Lead formal stakeholder presentations.
  • Proactively manage, document and communicate changes in project scope, identifying potential risks, and devising contingency plans.
  • Facilitate detailed requirement gathering and review sessions with technical and business staff, including all levels of management.
  • Ensure the documentation and management of business and quality requirements.
  • Facilitate the identification and modeling of business use and system test cases.
  • Facilitate software and process testing.
  • Track, monitor and manage project-related engineering work items and defects.
  • Coordinate solution assessment and validation in collaboration with appropriate SMEs.
  • Mentor project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline; may be substituted with four years relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of prior progressive experience in a Project Manager role.
  • Knowledge of industry standard project management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, parallel projects and initiatives in a fast paced environment across various business disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct issue research and contribute to project recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to document requirements using standard language and diagrams.
  • Understanding of people, process, and technology integration with a customer centric focus.
  • Knowledge of project management and implementation theory, methodologies, and tools.
  • Familiarity with new product development processes and software development life cycle (SDLC) planning.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, utilizing proper grammar, syntax, and excellent business acumen.
  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement, and conflict resolution in collaborative and independent environs.
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills to include diplomacy, empathy, influencing and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of project management and implementation theory, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft DevOps and Waterfall / Agile / Scrum project methodologies.
  • Familiarity with new product development processes and software development life cycle (SDLC) planning.
  • Intermediate proficiency working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint/
  • Access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • Previous experience working with COBRA and tax advantaged benefit plans
